GEOLOGY AND SOIL
Clay-limestone with alluvial soils at an altitude of 550 meters.
In addition to our Torre Muga brand, the Prado Enea crop is always the last to be taken to the winery and is selected from plots and land located in the Villalba de Rioja area, on the slopes of the Obarenes Mountains, facing south, a High quality terroir recognized. Grape grains are fermented in 100-hectolitre oak barrels without temperature control or yeast addition. The maceration period is between 16 and 20 days. The wine is aged for 12 months in American oak barrels of 160 hectoliters, which is followed by a minimum of 36 months in barrels, usually of French oak. At the end of the aging period, the wine is slightly clarified with fresh egg whites before being bottled and preserved in our cellars for at least another 36 months, in order to complete the aging process.
The wine shows an attractive and deep cherry color. The nose is fresh and complex, expressing aromas of berries, blackberries and plums, while also notes of cocoa, vanilla and a subtle roasted aroma, denoting an aging oak of the best quality.
It is fresh on the palate and has a very well integrated acidity.
Pleasant and fascinating texture in the mouth and with a long and persistent finish. Clean and fresh with great aging potential.
