Josep Lluís Gramona Batlle has the merit of being the first producer of Marc de Cava in the country. The project began in the seventies, using the distillation of pomace and wine from manual uncorking. It is a distillate of the “mothers” from the long aging of our cavas aged with cork stoppers.

The mother yeasts of Cava are the yeasts expelled with the wine and recovered after the manual disgorging of our cavas. From there, a distillation is carried out, carefully separating the heads and tails, recovering only the heart of the distillate, which is the noblest and highest quality part.
Distilled from grape pomace
It is obtained by steam distillation of the grape marc of the varieties we use in our winemaking, such as Xarel.lo and Parellada. We only use the heart of the distillate.
