VARIETY: 100% Tempranillo

TASTING
APPEARANCE: Deep purple color with violet edges, clean and bright.
NOSE: Complex nose with notes of blueberry jam, white pepper, cinnamon and hints of nuts and toast.
MOUTH: Balanced, very elegant, fine and silky. Broad and creamy with persistent ripe black fruit, liquorice and menthol.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 12º – 14º.
CONSUMPTION: Ideal from the moment of purchase. It is recommended to decant 30 minutes before serving, as sediments that do not affect the quality of the wine, coming from natural production, may appear.
COMBINES WITH: Perfect to accompany stews, casseroles or a good roast lamb. Aged cheeses.

VINEYARD AND WINE PRODUCTION
DESCRIPTION: Within the municipal area of ​​Pesquera de Duero, facing south at an altitude of more than 800 metres.
AGE: Average age 35 to 40 years.
SOIL: Poor soils with a lot of stones and a clay base
WEATHER/HARVEST: 2016 was a warmer year than usual. The first frosts did not arrive until November and December, but were significant during this month, with much warmer winter temperatures. The beginning of spring arrived with cooler temperatures than usual. However, the budding cycle developed normally. The average temperature from June onwards was high, reaching normal values ​​in August. The harvest period took place, as in other harvests, during the month of September.
AGEING: 24 months in American oak barrels and 12 months of rest in the bottle.
