The year was officially classified as VERY GOOD. The year passed without any serious weather incidents, with no spring frosts and only one hailstorm in June that did not cause any significant damage to the vineyard. However, the unusually heavy rains that occurred during the first six months of the year affected the fertilisation of the bunches in spring, causing poor setting and consequently a significant decrease in the harvest compared to a normal year. The harvest began on 2 October with the white varieties and on 4 October with the red varieties, and ended on 23 October at Viña Cubillo. The cool, dry summer and a harvest that took place in the absence of rainfall ensured the health of the vineyard and a harvest, although scarce, of excellent quality to the point that it is one of those exceptional years where in our House we decided to make Grandes Reservas.

Pairing

With spicy and vanilla notes from the ageing in the barrel, you can finish the whole bottle without even realising it. Very easy to drink, it goes well with warm salads with quail or poultry, puff pastries, foie gras with raspberry jam reduction, as well as roast lamb or suckling pig. In general, it goes well with practically everything, it is a very versatile wine.
