VARIETY: 100% Tempranillo
TASTING
VIEW: Intense purple color with violet edges, clean and bright.
NOSE: Complex nose with notes of blueberry jam, white pepper, cinnamon and hints of nuts and toast.
MOUTH: Balanced, very elegant, fine and silky. Ample and creamy with persistence of ripe black fruit, licorice and menthol.
SERVICE TEMPERATURE: 12º - 14º.
CONSUMPTION: Optimal from the moment of purchase. It is recommended to decant 30 minutes before service, since sediments that do not affect the quality of the wine, from natural production, may appear.
COMBINE WITH: Perfect to accompany stews, stews or a good roast suckling lamb. Cured cheeses.
VINEYARD AND ELABORATION
DESCRIPTION: Within the municipality of Pesquera de Duero, facing south at an altitude of more than 800 meters.
AGE: Average of 35 to 40 years.
SOIL: Poor soil with a lot of edge and a clayey base
CLIMATE / VINTAGE: 2016 was warmer than usual. The first frosts did not arrive until November and December, being considered during this month, with much warmer winter temperatures. The beginning of spring came with cooler temperatures than usual. However, the sprouting cycle was evolving normally. The average temperature since June was high, reaching normal values in August. The harvest period took place, as in other harvests, during the month of September.
AGING: 24 months in American oak barrels and 12 months of bottle rest.
